Void Check

First you must load the check that you want to void in the Check application.  Click on the Find button in the toolbar and locate the check.  Highlight the check and double click to load it into the Check application. 

 

If you wish to record the voiding of the check in a fiscal period other than the period the check was originally issued, change the Post Date on the  Check screen before proceeding to the next step and processing the void.  Also, if the original check was issued and has a Post Date in closed period, you will be required to enter a Post Date for the void process to a date beyond the Fiscal Period Close Date.

 

To access the void check functionality, right click on the mouse in the header section of the Check application.   Select the Void Check option. 

 

Upon confirmation that you wish to void the check, the Check applications will be loaded with the void check entry. 

 

When a check is voided the Find Check list will display the original check with a status of "V" (Void) and the void check entry.  Also, the documents paid by the voided check will be available for deletion or modification in the Bill screen and available for payment selection in Pay Bills.
