Line Item Allocations

Line Item Allocations are accessible in Invoice/Credit Memo, Journal Entry, Bill, Purchase Order and Check by clicking the right mouse button in the grid section of any activity screen and selecting the "Allocate" option.

 

The "Allocate" option  allows users to select a predefined group of account/class allocations to distribute line item amounts.  These predefined groups or templates are setup in Distribution Templates.

 

Steps for allocating line items

 

1. In the grid section of an activity screen, right click on the mouse and select the "Allocate" option to display the Line Item Allocations screen.

2. Key in an Amount to Allocate and select a Template ID from the drop down list.  The Description, Allocation Method, Destination Account IDs and Destination Class IDs values will default from the template.

If the template allocation method = "Percentage", the Percentage column and Amount To Allocate will default for each destination account and class.

 

If the template allocation method = "Amount", the Percentage column will be disabled and you must enter a value in the Amount To Allocate for each destination account and class. 

 

3.  Click on the Allocate button to populate the activity screen grid with the line item allocation transactions.  Click on Cancel if you do not want to populate the activity screen with the transactions.
