Markup

Markup is an amount or percentage over or under the Amount field that you wish to assign to this item for the estimate. 

For example, if Amount equals $50.00 and you key in a Markup of "5", the Total for the item will be $55.00.  If you key in a Markup of "5%", the Total for the item will be $52.50 (50.00 * 1.05).  Likewise, if you wish to discount the price, you may key in a negative amount or percentage and the Total will be calculated accordingly.
