Credit Card Charges

1.  Access the Credit Card Charges application from the Activities menu or Shortcuts.

 

2.  Select a Credit Card Account and press Tab.   As you enter an Credit Card Account in the Type-Thru drop box,  ObjAcctwill find the best match.  You can also click on the down arrow at the right of the drop box to display the full list of Credit Card Accounts. Scroll down the list until you find the desired Credit Card Account and click to retrieve it for the credit card charge/refund.

 

3.  By default, Hold will not be checked.  If you check the Hold field, the credit card charge/refund will not have any impact on your company's financials.

 

4.  Select the Purchased From entity from whom you made a credit card purchase and press Tab.   As you enter a Purchased From entity in the Type-Thru drop box, ObjAcct will find the best match.  You can also click on the down arrow at the right of the drop box to display the full list of Purchased From entities. Scroll down the list until you find the desired Purchased From entity and click to retrieve it for the credit card charge/refund.

 

5.  The Date will default to the current business date.

 

6.  You must enter an Amount greater than zero and select a Document Type. Valid Document Types are "Credit Card Charge" for purchases or "Credit Card Refund" for returns or credits.

 

7.  Optionally, you may select assign a Reference Number or enter descriptive text in the Memo field. 

 

8.  Fill in the credit card transaction detail lines.  You must select an Account, Class (if Company Setup, Use Classes = "Required"), and Amount.  Enter as many transactions lines as you need.

 

9.  Optionally, you may select a Customer, Job, 1099 Box or enter descriptive text for each transaction.

 

10.  When the sum of the transactions equals the Amount of the credit card charge/refund, click on Save to save the document.

 

11.  If the sum of the transactions does not equal the Amount of the credit card charge/refund, the document will be saved with an "OB" or out of balance status and will have not any impact on your company's financials.  Correct the out of balance condition and press Save again.
