Cash Flow Section

Cash Flow Section identifies the section of the Statement of Cash Flows report where activity for this account should appear. 

 

The valid values for Cash Flow Section are:

 

Blank, or no cash flow section assigned, indicates that the account's activity should not be included in the Statement of Cash Flows report.

 

"Operating Activities" indicates that this account's activity should appear in the section of the report that identifies cash made from the sale of goods and services.  ObjAcct will start with net income and adjust for any non-cash account activity such as accounts receivable because cash has not been received and accounts payable because cash has not been expended.

 

"Investing Activities" indicates that this account's activity should appear in the section of the report that identifies the amount of cash invested in assets for the company.

 

"Financing Activities" indicates that this account's activity should appear in the section of the report that identifies the amount of cash received from long-term liabilities or equity and distributed to stockholders or owners.
