Allocation Group ID

Allocation Group ID is a unique alphanumeric identifier for the group. Allocation group IDs control the sequence in which allocation groups are processed in Generate Account Allocations.

When you are assigning allocation group IDs, make sure you allow for the ability to insert new allocation groups that may arise in the future. It is easiest to use a numeric coding structure. For example, if you have five allocation groups coded with 000100, 000200, 000300, 000400, 000500 and later determine that you need to add one between 000400 and 000500, a new allocation group can be added with an ID = 000450.
