Adding A Field

To add a field to a report layout, follow these steps:

 

1.  Select Customize Report from the Customization Manager, Company Menu.

 

2.  The Customize Report application lists all ObjAcct reports and indicates which reports have been customized.

 

3.  Click on the report you wish to customize and report writer will display with the report loaded and ready for customization.

 

For example, here is the Customer Balance Detail report:

4.  Click on the Fields Tab to see a list of fields that may be added to the report. 

 

For example, to add BillToAddressLine1 to the report, double click on BillToAddressLine1 in the Fields Tab and then move the cursor to the section of the report where you want to add the field. 

 

The "+" will identify where the field will be added. 

 

When the cursor is located in the section where you want to place the field, left click on the mouse and drag the cursor for the desired field length.  See screen shot below.

5.  Click on the Properties Tab to change the field properties.

 

6.  Once you have added all necessary fields and properties, click on Save to save the report customization.  The report writer will automatically close and you will be returned to the Customized Report list.

 

NOTE: If you do not want the customized version of the report to be available to users, uncheck the Active field.

 

7.  The report will now display in the Customize Report List with a value of "Custom" in the Type column.  If Active was checked when you saved the report customization, the Active column will have a value of "Yes" and the customized version of the report will override the ObjAcct standard version of the report.
