Void Check

First you must load the check that you want to void in the Write Checks application.  Click on the Find button in the toolbar and locate the check.  Highlight the check and double click to load it into the Write Checks application. 

 

If you wish to record the voiding of the check in a fiscal period other than the period the check was originally issued, change the Post Date on the  Write Checksscreen before proceeding to the next step and processing the void.  Also, if the original check was issued and has a Post Date in closed period, you will be required to enter a Post Date for the void process to a date beyond the Fiscal Period Close Date.

 

To access the void check functionality, right click on the mouse in the header section of the Write Checks application.   Select the Void Check option. 

 

Upon confirmation that you wish to void the check, the Write Checks applications will be loaded with the void check entry. 

 

When a check is voided the Find Check list will display the original check with a status of "V" (Void) and the void check entry.  Also, the documents paid by the voided check will be available for deletion or modification in the Enter Bills screen and available for payment selection in Pay Bills.
