Require Job For Account Category

Check the Require Job For Account Category field if you want to require users to assign job IDs to any account that has an account category assigned to it.  The Account Category application is used to identify classifications of accounts that should be grouped together for reporting. 

 

For example, an account category could be setup for Materials and assigned to all accounts related to job costing materials.  If you enter any of the accounts assigned to the "Material" category in a vendor bill transaction line, you would be required to also supply a job ID.  Then you could run job costing transaction reports grouped by Account Category to provide additional job cost type analysis.
